Resident Care Personal Support Worker

Resident-centred care anchors this Personal Support Worker position at The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre, with daily living support and safe transfers.
Accountable to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Designate, the Personal Support Worker follows established resident care plans and supports comfort, privacy, and participation. The work includes personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, positioning, documentation, and communication with residents, families, visitors, and staff. The position contributes to interdisciplinary conferences, audits, monthly clinical indicators, and required education.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow care plans, physician orders, and established procedures
Provide mouth, hair, nail, dressing, and bathing care
Respond promptly to toileting and incontinence-care requests
Feed residents according to preferences and diet restrictions
Maintain accurate records using computerized documentation systems
Requirements:
Recognized Personal Support Worker college or institutional certification
Experience working in a long-term care setting
Interpersonal communication proficiency in written and verbal settings
Computer operations and resident-record knowledge
English proficiency for written and verbal communication
Support resident comfort and dignity through personal care, nutrition assistance, safe positioning, and timely clinical documentation.
