Transit Bus Service Person
BC Transit Corporation
Operate transit buses and service vehicles with BC Transit in Victoria, using Class 2 driving skills and hands-on bus maintenance abilities. This full-time temporary assignment lasts 12 months.
Reporting to the Daily Shift Manager, the Service Person supports bus servicing across Greater Victoria. Duties include fueling, fluid checks, washing, sanitizing, cleaning, fare-box emptying, advertising assistance, equipment operation, and computer-based data collection. The work is predominantly outdoors and physical.
Key Responsibilities:
Fuel buses and check proper fluid levels
Wash, sanitize, and clean bus interiors and exteriors
Empty fare-boxes and assist with advertising promotions
Operate transit buses for on-road vehicle transfers
Complete yard surveys and data entry
Requirements:
Full high school completion or equivalent
Class 2 Learners and temporary number 15 air brake endorsement
Obtain Class 2 air brake license during probation
Pass required ICBC and pre-employment medical examinations
Work evenings, weekends, and physical outdoor conditions
Support BC Transit operations in Victoria through safe bus servicing, Class 2 driving, equipment operation, and accurate data collection.
