This Pharmacy Technician assists technical prescription functions and pharmacy services. Responsibilities include prescription data entry, medication selection, counting, packaging, labeling, and accurate dispensing. The position also supports third-party adjudication, pharmacy administration, customer service, and Pharmacy Standards of Practice. Clinical inquiries and counseling needs are referred to the pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather prescription information according to established Standards
Accurately dispense, count, measure, package, and label medications
Process new prescriptions and refill requests through pharmacy systems
Adjudicate third-party billing and manage applicable accounts
Refer clinical inquiries and counseling needs to pharmacists
Requirements:
Registration with the corresponding provincial licensing college
Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College
Previous pharmacy experience preferred
Effective organizational skills and multitasking ability
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Use prescription workflow, pharmacy systems, and customer service skills to support accurate care at Shoppers Drug Mart.
