Therapeutic Recreation Program Aide

Use therapeutic recreation skills to support meaningful programs as a Recreation Aide at West Coast Seniors Housing Management. Help residents participate safely and respectfully.
This position assists the Therapeutic Recreation Manager, Recreation Manager, or designate with resident-focused activity services. You will contribute to program research, development, implementation, and evaluation while maintaining residents' rights and dignity. Duties also include resident portering, volunteer support, records, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents traveling to and from recreation programs
Support volunteers and assist with volunteer evaluations
Maintain statistical records using Activity Pro or Point Click Care
Orient new residents and encourage community participation
Maintain documentation, confidentiality, and security according to policies
Requirements:
Recreation diploma or Health Care Aide with activity certificate
Previous seniors-focused environment experience is an asset
Dementia course and Food Safe Level 1 are assets
Valid Class 4 unrestricted British Columbia driver's licence
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Bring resident support, program coordination, documentation, and volunteer guidance skills to therapeutic recreation services.
