Hospital Maintenance Trade Worker
Georgian Bay General Hospital
Maintain essential hospital systems at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland using electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and repair skills. This permanent casual role supports call-in and vacation relief.
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Maintenance Trade Worker helps keep GBGH operating safely. The position covers general maintenance, renovations, contractor coordination, service requests, and safety compliance. Candidates need trade licensing, healthcare facilities experience, and strong emergency response skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Complete general maintenance and renovation tasks
Respond to service requests and emergency repairs
Coordinate with contractors and share operational information
Support compliance with safety and health standards
Requirements:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Current Ontario College of Trades license in a listed trade
Previous healthcare facilities department experience
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding, and torch equipment
Ability to read blueprints and Provincial and Municipal codes
Bring licensed trade expertise, careful repairs, and calm emergency response to GBGH’s hospital maintenance team in Midland, Ontario.
