Operate hospital communications and support patient registration as a Casual Switchboard Operator Admitting Clerk in Williams Lake, B.C. Rotating shifts offer varied clerical work.
Cariboo Memorial Hospital is seeking a casual employee for switchboard operation, admitting clerical duties, and patient-facing support. The work includes registration, appointment confirmation, accounts receivable processing, typing, and data entry. Shifts cover days and evenings, from 07:00 to 15:00, 09:00 to 17:00, or 13:30 to 21:30.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate switchboard and public address systems
Register patients and direct visitors appropriately
Confirm procedural appointments with hospital contacts
Receive payments and balance daily cash
Complete admissions, discharges, transfers, and pre-admission data entry
Requirements:
Completion of Grade 12
Two years recent related experience or equivalent preparation
Typing test results of 45 or more NWPM
Typing test issued within the past 48 months
Knowledge of medical terminology
Bring switchboard, registration, payment processing, and medical terminology knowledge to Cariboo Memorial Hospital’s casual clerical team.
