Supervised Practice Nursing Intern Newmarket

Build supervised nursing practice at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario, applying patient care and healthcare communication skills. This is a temporary, full-time student position.
The Supervised Practice Intern supports an Ontario practice experience for eligible Internationally Educated Nurses. Working under supervision, the intern demonstrates nursing knowledge, skill, judgement, language proficiency, and CNO-aligned practice. The position involves patient-focused care, collaboration, assessment, documentation, and hospital procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient and family-focused care within supervised practice scope
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Contribute to ongoing patient assessment and health-status documentation
Assist with developing and evaluating patient care plans
Follow Southlake policies, procedures, and emergency codes
Requirements:
Completed nursing education for intended Ontario RN or RPN practice
Recent experience practicing as a nurse
Completed approved registration and RN/RPN jurisprudence examinations
Proficiency in English or French
Authorization to practice nursing in Ontario under stated requirements
Use nursing knowledge, communication, collaboration, and patient-care skills during supervised practice at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
