Casual Inpatient Occupational Therapist
St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto
Deliver inpatient occupational therapy with Unity Health Toronto, using assessment and critical thinking during weekend corporate clinical coverage. Support Medicine and Surgery Programs across diverse care areas.
As an Occupational Therapist on St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Health Disciplines Resource Team, you will assess patients and provide treatment recommendations. The casual position reports to the Manager, Collaborative Practice and Education, requiring communication, interpersonal skills, and adaptability. Services may include treatment, consultation, discharge planning, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and treat patients with impaired occupational performance
Provide treatment recommendations for Medicine and Surgery inpatients
Collaborate interprofessionally to deliver comprehensive patient care
Identify educational needs for patients and families
Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
Current Ontario occupational therapy licence in good standing
Master’s Degree or substantial equivalent in Occupational Therapy
Current BLS certification or willingness to complete probationarily
MoCA certification as required, or willingness to certify
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
