Food Services Cook Kamloops
The Mustard SEED Society
Plan and prepare nutritious meals as a Cook with The Mustard Seed in Kamloops, working Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This fixed-term Cook position runs until March 31, 2026, reporting to the Food Services Supervisor. You will support meal service through food preparation, meal planning, delivery, storage, distribution, and cleanup. The work also supports volunteers, community participants, and The Mustard Seed’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve daily meals during scheduled shifts
Participate in monthly menu planning and incorporate donations
Manage meal preparation, delivery, portioning, service, and storage
Transport food safely from housing to shelter
Train staff, volunteers, and participants in food safety
Requirements:
Experience in food services, preparation, and meal planning
Valid First Aid and Food Safety certifications
Understanding of inner-city poverty issues and food-related concerns
Compassion toward clients with diverse needs and circumstances
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Bring food preparation, meal planning, leadership, and compassionate service to The Mustard Seed’s Kamloops meal program.
