As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will help residents with daily living, personal care, meals, and mobility. You will support special needs, monitor intake, and perform delegated nursing acts within company policy and scope of practice. The position also involves resident communication, documentation, and care planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with hygiene, skin care, and daily activities
Support eye care, colostomy, catheter, and other special needs
Monitor intake and provide snacks, fluids, and night lunches
Perform delegated nursing acts according to policy
Assist with leisure activities and light housekeeping
Requirements:
Complete the Continuing Care Assistant program or accepted equivalency
Maintain registration under Nova Scotia’s CCA Registry Act
Possess valid CPR and First Aid certification
Obtain required Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks
Demonstrate knowledge of electronic health care records
