Employee Relations Leader Westland

Westland seeks an experienced employee relations leader to guide sensitive workplace matters, investigations, and manager decisions in Surrey, BC.
This hybrid Manager, People Relations position combines hands-on expertise with leadership of the People Relations Advisor. You will partner with business leaders and People & Performance colleagues on challenging employment decisions. You will also collaborate with Legal and external advisors on labour relations matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle complex employee relations matters from assessment through resolution
Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, and conflict
Strengthen manager capability through practical, risk-informed guidance
Collaborate on grievances, collective agreements, mediation, and arbitration preparation
Monitor workplace requirements and address organizational risks
Requirements:
Ten or more years in employee, labour, or related HR relations
Three years leading an employee relations or HR business partner team
Working knowledge of employment, human rights, privacy, and safety requirements
Strong consultation, facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and communication skills
Unionized environment experience or collective agreement interpretation is an asset
