Heavy Equipment Technician Merritt
Infracon Construction
Diagnose heavy equipment and diesel systems as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Infracon Group of Companies in Merritt, BC. Work primarily in the shop.
This full-time, permanent position supports construction operations through equipment inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul. Mechanics may focus on off-road construction equipment or highway trucks and trailers. The work includes preventative maintenance, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and field breakdown response as operational needs require.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, service, repair, and overhaul heavy equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing programs
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and braking systems
Complete field repairs and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements:
Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or related certification
Third- or fourth-year apprenticeship candidates considered
Experience maintaining construction, commercial, or industrial equipment fleets
Strong diagnostic troubleshooting and mechanical abilities
Valid Class 5 licence and clean driver’s abstract
