Hydraulic Systems Engineering Technician

Design high-pressure hydraulic systems for mining equipment in Lively, Ontario, using mechanical engineering technology and specialized CAD software.
Motion Industries seeks an Engineering Technician for heavy-duty fluid power design supporting drills, excavators, conveyor drives, and other machinery. The work includes schematics, mechanical blueprints, 2D layouts, 3D CAD models, electro-hydraulic controls, and system calculations. You will support prototypes, diagnostics, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and maintenance guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design hydraulic systems and mining equipment schematics
Create mechanical blueprints, 2D layouts, and 3D CAD models
Calculate flow rates, pressures, and heat dissipation requirements
Assemble, install, calibrate, and commission prototypes
Diagnose failures and guide maintenance crews during overhauls
Requirements:
Two years of post-secondary mechanical engineering training
Three to five years of related engineering technology experience
Two to three years assisting fluid power design
Experience with electro-hydraulic diagnostics and proportional valves
Bachelor degree and hydraulics training preferred
