Certified Recreation Therapy Assistant Role

Become a Certified Recreation Therapy Assistant at Silverthorn Community in Mississauga. This position is dedicated to enhancing resident well-being through engaging and therapeutic recreation activities.
As a key team member, you will assist in delivering tailored recreation programs and contribute to individual care plans. Your responsibilities include organizing activity calendars, providing access to recreational opportunities, and cultivating residents' special skills. Flexibility for evening and weekend shifts is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement recreational activities per established care protocols
• Contribute to care plans meeting individual resident needs
• Plan and maintain skill-based activity calendars
• Encourage residents to share their skills and talents
• Define therapeutic goals for recreational interventions
Requirements:
• Certification in Recreation/Therapeutic Recreation required
• At least 2 years of experience in Long Term Care
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Knowledge of dementia care programming essential
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings
