The Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is a non‑profit potato grower organization that aims to increase the success of the potato growing industry in Alberta. To accomplish this, the PGA works on three fronts: education and extension, promotion, and research. The PGA is the voice of the potato industry in Alberta.
Communications Specialist
This is a unique opportunity to ensure that PGA maintains a positive brand image while fostering meaningful connections with members, partners, and the public.
Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Brand Management
Social Media & Website Management including Content Development & Engagement
Newsletter Creation & Other Written Correspondence for Member Group
Collection & Distribution of News, Events, and Updates Relevant to Growers, Consumers, & Industry Partners
Stakeholder & Media Relations
Subscription/Application Management
Creation of Ongoing Photos & Videos for use both Online and in Print
Assisting with Promotional Materials for Public Education & Outreach
Other Duties as Required
Requirements
Team-Orientated with Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills with Strong Attention to Detail & Accuracy
Graphic Design & Video Editing Experience
Technically Savvy with a Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Apps, and all Social Media Platforms
A Desire to Present the Message of the Organization to the Members and the Public
Creative with an Eye for Detail while being Deadline Focused & Process Driven
Valid Class 5 driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle
Ag Experience/Knowledge Considered an Asset
