UPS Tractor Trailer Shifter

Operate tractor trailers for UPS during a permanent weekday shift, using safe driving methods and equipment maneuvering skills. Support package handling operations each evening.
As a Vehicle Shifter, you will couple and uncouple tractor trailers and position equipment for tractor trailer and package handling operations. The permanent schedule runs Monday through Friday from 16:45 to 21:45. You will complete safety inspections, communicate with dispatch, and report equipment malfunctions to your supervisor. The work requires trained operating methods and technology use.
Key Responsibilities:
Couple and uncouple tractor trailers safely
Move equipment into position for operations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety checks
Communicate with dispatch using required technology
Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
Requirements:
Meet local vehicle operation age requirements
Know package handling principles
Hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Have two years of driving experience, preferred
Follow prescribed safety and driving methods
Bring tractor trailer handling, safety inspection, and dispatch communication skills to UPS's weekday evening vehicle shifting operation.
