Caterpillar Shop Repair Technician

Service the premium Caterpillar brand as a Shop Technician, applying electrical diagnosis and equipment repair skills within Toromont Cat’s Ottawa operation.
This full time, permanent position focuses on servicing Caterpillar equipment and components in the shop. Toromont Cat needs a licensed technician with three to five years of trade experience, strong safety awareness, and customer-focused communication. The successful candidate plans work, troubleshoots issues, completes repairs, and documents service accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan troubleshooting and repair work for shop equipment
Use Caterpillar testing equipment to diagnose faults
Service Caterpillar equipment and components to standards
Complete timely customer service and repair reports
Undertake assignments supporting customer needs
Requirements:
Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician with three to five years’ experience
Strong safety focus and knowledge of fabrication basics
Strong computer skills; Cat Systems familiarity is an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Willingness to work flexible hours as required
Bring Caterpillar testing, troubleshooting, reporting, and relationship management expertise to Toromont Cat’s heavy equipment shop.
