As a Staff Engineer, you will provide technical direction for a platform helping customers build AI applications with MongoDB. You will lead high-visibility work improving distributed systems performance, scalability, and reliability. The team values collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and honesty.
Key Responsibilities:

Define service evolution with product and engineering partners
Design and deliver tested platform components
Shape architecture, code reviews, and development practices
Mentor engineers and own complex projects
Improve developer experience as the product grows
Requirements:

Eight-plus years building distributed systems or cloud services
Strong foundations in scalable compute and data systems
Experience designing, testing, debugging, and tuning software
Leadership of 15–20-person infrastructure projects
Interest in Python, Go, and Java
Bring technical leadership, distributed systems expertise, and scalable software experience to MongoDB’s AI platform engineering team.
