Head of People AI Startup

Build an AI-first People function as Head of People for a Series B startup with approximately 120 employees across North America. Own recruiting and people operations remotely.
This hands-on, commercially minded leader will build the company’s first People function. The role spans talent acquisition, HR operations, compensation, employee experience, and scalable processes. You will advise executives while supporting continued growth across Canada and the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead recruiting strategy across technical, commercial, and leadership functions
Build scalable hiring, interviewing, and onboarding processes
Oversee employee lifecycle, benefits, leaves, and employee relations
Maintain compliant HR operations across Canada and United States
Develop compensation frameworks, equity, promotions, and incentive structures
Requirements:
People Operations and Talent Acquisition experience in technology or SaaS
Experience building processes within a high-growth entrepreneurial environment
Strong senior-level and technical recruiting experience
Understanding of compensation, performance, benefits, and compliance
Ability to use AI, automation, and modern HR technology
Shape an AI-first People function through recruiting, scalable operations, compensation, and executive partnership across North America.
