Build privacy-preserving AI evaluation infrastructure with Python at OpenMined as a senior independent contractor working remotely near US Eastern hours.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build core systems and products for federated AI. You will work with the AI Oversight Technical Lead Manager, frontier labs, external evaluators, and other partner organizations. The work combines software architecture, full-stack engineering, secure enclaves, deployments, and clear technical communication.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and ship privacy-preserving AI evaluation infrastructure in Python
Strengthen secure enclave and trusted execution environment solutions
Extend PySyft with workers and verified receipts
Deploy software reliably across partner environments
Write, test, review, and explain engineering work
Requirements:

Five or more years of professional engineering experience
Strong Python skills and clean, reliable coding practices
Software architecture and systems design experience
Full-stack experience across at least one project
CI/CD, complex debugging, and cloud infrastructure experience
Apply senior engineering judgment to Python, secure infrastructure, and AI evaluation systems while supporting privacy-preserving deployments.
