Senior Legal Adviser DEED

Advise DEED as a Senior Legal Adviser, guiding complex legal negotiations and sensitive matters across Western Australia’s energy and economic department.
DEED’s Legal Services division seeks a senior legal professional for an 18-month full-time fixed-term appointment, with possible extension or permanency. The work involves high-level counsel, stakeholder liaison, negotiations, and contributions to policies, standards, and strategies. Understanding legislative processes and commercial or contract law is important.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-level legal advice and leadership
Handle complex and sensitive legal matters
Negotiate legal matters on behalf of DEED
Maintain liaison with key internal stakeholders
Contribute to policy, standards, and strategy formulation
Requirements:
Strong legal background and relevant professional experience
Knowledge of legislative processes
History of providing in-house legal counsel
Commercial or contract law experience
Capacity to meet leadership behaviour expectations
Use your legal judgement, negotiation capability, and policy expertise to support DEED’s departmental priorities and stakeholders.
