Senior Software Engineering Manager

Lead software engineering teams in Toronto with hands-on development, cloud technologies, and a hybrid schedule requiring three office days weekly.
Capital One Canada seeks a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to motivate, manage, and inspire engineers. You will guide innovative products while contributing hands-on. The work supports fraud reduction, customer experiences, and resilient software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead two or more engineering teams directly and indirectly
Build solutions reducing fraud and improving customer experiences
Guide application craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability
Manage talent, succession planning, inclusion, and team development
Mentor engineers and participate in technology communities
Requirements:
Four years leading teams within agile environments
Four years providing direct people leadership
Ten years as a hands-on software engineer
Knowledge of security, testing, CI/CD, availability, and resiliency
Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
Bring engineering leadership, hands-on software expertise, and cloud knowledge to Capital One Canada's Toronto Software Studio.
