Staff Design Systems Engineer

Shape Juniper Square’s design system with TypeScript, React, and CSS expertise in a remote full-time role across the United States or Canada.
As a Staff Design Engineer, you will set design-system strategy, governance, adoption, and long-term direction. You will partner across Design, Engineering, and Product while defining AI-enabled design-to-engineering workflows. The work supports a complex private-markets SaaS platform serving investment managers, fund accounting, investor portals, and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Own design-system strategy, roadmap, governance, and contribution model
Define AI enablement across prototype-to-production workflows
Set technical direction and standards for UI quality
Build workflows, tooling, and templates for designers shipping code
Shape collaboration between Design and Engineering leadership
Requirements:
10+ years across design and front-end engineering
Experience scaling design systems across product organizations
Strong TypeScript, React, CSS, and production-code skills
Experience defining design tooling or developer-experience strategy
Fluency with Cursor, Claude Code, v0.dev, or equivalent
Bring design-system leadership, front-end craft, and AI workflow expertise to Juniper Square’s complex SaaS platform.
