As a Software Development Engineer, you will build production systems supporting AI agents and enterprise-scale software. Your work spans backend services, APIs, orchestration, observability, and developer tooling for the Software Development Life Cycle. You will help AI teams develop, test, deploy, and operate reliable workflows.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement backend services, systems, and tooling
Build internal APIs that improve developer experience
Contribute to observability, logging, tracing, and debugging systems
Collaborate with engineering, product, and AI teams
Participate in architecture and technical decision discussions
Requirements:

Three or more years of backend software development experience
Strong understanding of APIs and asynchronous processing
Experience with service-oriented architecture and distributed systems
Experience designing for reliability, scalability, and maintainability
Experience with platforms, infrastructure, or developer tooling
Apply backend, API, orchestration, and observability expertise to Workday’s AI infrastructure development platform.
