Clinical Research Finance Director

Lead finance for ClinSurge Research’s independent clinical research sites, using advanced Excel and financial modeling in a remote-first setup.
As Director of Finance / Controller, you will own finance across cardiometabolic and primary care trial sites. The role covers Canadian accounting standards, financial controls, multi-entity transactions, and clinical research billing. You will provide leadership with financial information for study decisions while building scope as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead monthly and year-end close across sites and entities
Oversee sponsor and CRO invoicing and payment schedules
Track study budgets and profitability by protocol and site
Build cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial models
Maintain controls, SOPs, and approval workflows
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation and seven-plus years’ progressive experience
Three or more years in controller or equivalent lead roles
Knowledge of ASPE or IFRS and Canadian tax requirements
Experience managing multiple entities with CAD and USD transactions
