Lead platform infrastructure at Vanta by guiding App Primitives and applying full-stack technical judgment to shared product systems. This role is based in Canada.
As Engineering Manager, App Primitives, you will grow a team responsible for infrastructure used across Vanta. You will shape strategy, develop senior engineers, and guide systems spanning backend services, data models, APIs, and UI. Your work enables product teams to build quickly and safely on shared foundations.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead hiring, team health, delivery, and engineer development
Own roadmaps for comments, notifications, event logs, flags, and tasks
Define interfaces between shared systems and product teams
Partner with engineering leaders to prioritize platform investments
Set technical direction across backend, data, and UI primitives
Requirements:

Five-plus years of engineering experience
Two-plus years managing engineering teams
Experience leading platform or shared services teams
Full-stack fluency with backend systems and API design
Experience hiring senior engineers and managing dependencies
Build Vanta’s shared product foundation through platform strategy, team development, and strong full-stack engineering leadership.
