Manage payroll processes as a Payroll Specialist at Chartwell, ensuring the accurate processing of biweekly payroll for numerous employees. This role calls for attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
In this position, you'll oversee the full payroll cycle in a fast-paced environment, addressing payroll inquiries and ensuring compliance with extensive regulations. You will play a vital role in handling payments for sick leave, vacation pay, and various deductions while maintaining confidentiality. An understanding of Canadian payroll and union agreements is crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee multi-province payroll cycles with precision
• Administer sick, retro, and vacation payments effectively
• Answer payroll-related questions from site management
• Ensure compliance with applicable union contracts
• Complete monthly and year-end regulatory filings on time
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of payroll experience in Canada
• Bilingual in English and French required
• Experience with payroll systems like Fusion HCM or ADP
• Good knowledge of payroll accounting principles
• CPA Certification or progress toward it preferred
