Civil Substation Design Lead Engineer
CIMA Canada Inc.
Lead civil substation design for power systems up to 735 kV with CIMA+ in Vancouver, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
As a Civil Substation Lead Engineer, you will guide design teams across structural and civil scopes for transmission and distribution projects. Your work includes seismic analysis, site development, water management, and construction support. You will also coordinate progress, mentor professionals, and communicate with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead civil designs for substations up to 735 kV
Coordinate design tasks within multidisciplinary project teams
Perform structural analysis, seismic design, and detailing
Develop site, drainage, access, and containment designs
Prepare reports, specifications, estimates, and construction packages
Requirements:
12+ years of substation civil or structural design experience
Civil Engineering degree and Canadian professional registration
Eligibility for EGBC registration
Experience with Western Canadian electric utility designs
Proficiency in SAFI, S-Frame, STAAD, MFAD, LPile, or Civil 3D
