This Toronto-based Senior Engineering Manager leads engineering organizations across software platforms and distributed systems in a complex, regulated environment. You will set expectations, coach performance, plan succession, and guide execution. Strong experience with engineering metrics, architecture trade-offs, risk controls, and stakeholder alignment supports portfolio-wide delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage roadmaps, dependencies, capacity, risks, and commitments
Evaluate architecture and build-versus-buy trade-offs
Improve quality, testing, performance, and production readiness
Communicate decisions, risks, and investment needs clearly
Requirements:
Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Seven-plus years leading production-grade enterprise engineering organizations
Talent assessment, coaching, performance, and organizational design experience
Experience managing technical debt across service portfolios
Strong delivery, operational management, and incident leadership capability
Use people leadership, engineering metrics, architecture judgment, and delivery discipline to advance Scotiabank’s enterprise technology outcomes.
