Senior Applied AI Engineer
Vanta
Build AI-powered product features at Vanta using LLMs, evaluations, and full-stack engineering across a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you will shape Vanta’s AI offerings and set technical strategy. You will integrate LLMs with existing products and systems while building experiences that help customers accelerate compliance, manage risk, and earn trust. The work spans product engineering, machine learning, product management, design, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement AI-powered features with product engineers
Integrate LLMs into Vanta products and systems
Instrument evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring for quality
Collaborate on foundational AI systems and tooling
Mentor engineers and champion strong technical instincts
Requirements:
At least 7 years of software engineering experience
Shipped LLM-backed products using prompting, RAG, or agents
Built and scaled full-stack applications, APIs, and interfaces
Experience creating evaluation sets and improving AI quality
Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design
