Support exceptional patient care as a Unit Aide at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. This temporary full-time role allows you to provide critical assistance to nursing staff and patients.
Reporting directly to the Patient Care Manager, the Unit Aide is responsible for implementing personal care and minor nursing tasks that cater to patient hygiene and comfort. This involves helping with nutrition, toileting, and transporting patients to necessary locations. You will also play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness of the department and ensuring all equipment is in working order.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver personal care according to established policies
• Assist with patient nutrition and toileting tasks
• Transport patients with care using wheelchairs or stretchers
• Clean and restock departmental supplies regularly
• Notify Charge Nurse of equipment malfunctions
Requirements:
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program
• BC Care Aide registry registration required
• Effective communication abilities in verbal and written forms
• Capable of physically performing required tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with patients and staff
