Our client, a leading North American material handling equipment manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a
Project Engineer/ Product Development engineer to lead product development and engineering projects for its Forklift and Telehandler product lines.
This is a hands‑on engineering leadership role overseeing projects from concept and design through testing and production.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle product development projects from concept through completion.
Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and technical deliverables.
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Design and develop mechanical components, fabricated assemblies, and heavy equipment systems.
Support prototype development, testing, validation, and continuous product improvement.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Manage engineering drawings, BOMs, and product documentation.
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams.
Apply engineering standards, including SAE and ISO, and support DFMEA, PPAP, and VAVE initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
Valid P.Eng. designation is mandatory.
5+ years of progressive engineering experience.
Direct experience in material handling equipment, forklifts, or telehandlers is strongly preferred and considered essential.
Proven experience in mechanical product design and full-cycle product development.
Advanced proficiency in
SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor .
Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Experience with product testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
Ability to travel occasionally to the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in agricultural equipment or construction equipment manufacturing.
Experience with full-machine product development.
