Engineering Manager Platform AI
Relay
Lead Relay’s AI platform and developer enablement from Toronto, helping teams ship AI workflows quickly and safely. Support technology foundations behind products serving small businesses.
As Engineering Manager, Voyager, you will own shared LLM infrastructure while enabling product teams to build on dependable patterns and tooling. You will lead delivery across platform and research initiatives, guide technical decisions, and grow a senior-heavy engineering team. The role spans React, TypeScript, Node.js, Terraform, and AWS systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Give Relay teams tooling, patterns, and guidance for AI workflows
Maintain reliability, security, and lifecycle of shared LLM systems
Lead delivery of Voyager platform and research initiatives
Establish processes for prototypes and production systems
Build growth paths through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and management
Requirements:
Experience with production agentic systems at scale
Technical credibility reviewing designs and architecture decisions
Experience growing senior and staff-level engineers
Cross-functional leadership driving initiatives with meaningful impact
Active use of AI in engineering work
Build AI platform capability at Relay through reliable LLM infrastructure, developer enablement, technical leadership, and team development.
