Senior Tunnel Design Engineer
GHD
Design tunnel liners and shafts with GHD in Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, or Whitby through a hybrid three-day office model.
GHD seeks a Senior Tunnel Engineer for its growing Tunnel and Rail and Transit groups. You will support tunnel and station development, large diameter subway transit projects, municipal work, and international pursuits. The work uses PLAXIS, FLAC, and Rocscience for analytical and numerical analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Support tunnel engineering projects across Canada and internationally
Complete technical and administrative tunnel and station tasks
Analyze tunnel liners and shaft designs using industry software
Prepare tunnel reports and proposal inputs
Attend client meetings with supervisors
Requirements:
Minimum eight years of postgraduate tunnel and underground project experience
Experience designing large diameter tunnels exceeding six metres
Ability to design deep shafts and shoring structures
Knowledge of PLAXIS, FLAC, Rocscience, and analysis methods
Engineering degree and P.Eng. status or progress toward it
Bring tunnel design, geotechnical analysis, and technical writing expertise to GHD’s transportation and rail projects across Ontario.
