As a Patient Flow Specialist, your duties involve real-time monitoring of bed status and supporting patient intake during peak hours. You'll work directly with clinical and administrative staff to resolve challenges related to patient flow and enhance overall hospital efficiency. Your strong problem-solving skills will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage patient admissions, discharges, and internal transfers
• Conduct patient interviews and ensure accurate EMR entries
• Participate in daily bed management meetings for operational insights
• Oversee preferred accommodation requests and billing processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth bed utilization
Requirements:
• Medical terminology certificate required or to be obtained
• Minimum one year in bed management or two years registration
• Health Information Certified Associate designation or eligibility
• Experience with Hospital Admission Discharge Transfer systems
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
