ML systems architecture and evaluation anchor this Staff Data Scientist role at Jobber, focused on dependable models, platforms, and measurable quality.
As a senior individual contributor reporting to the Manager, Data Science, you will shape how ML systems are built, evaluated, and trusted. You will own production pipelines, real-time serving, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining. Your scope includes MLOps standards, feature store direction, peer review, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Own production ML systems from training through retraining
Set MLOps and ML engineering standards across the team
Shape feature store and platform roadmap priorities
Establish systematic model evaluation and regression testing
Present work and align senior leadership and cross-functional partners
Requirements:
Experience training, deploying, serving, and maintaining production models
Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills
Expert SQL and production-grade Python capabilities
Experience with Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and cloud infrastructure
Ownership of model quality beyond shipping speed
Use architectural judgment, rigorous evaluation, and production engineering to strengthen Jobber’s machine learning systems and standards.
