Commercial Lead Strategic Projects

Lead commercial controls for Hydro One’s strategic projects in Toronto, applying contract oversight and financial forecasting to major construction programs.
As Commercial Lead, you will support outsourced Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects exceeding $100 million. Your work covers risk management, contract compliance, change management, forecasting, and commercial reporting. You will help ensure project finances remain accurately reported, controlled, and financially feasible.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage contractual and financial risks across major construction projects
Implement change management and project risk strategies
Advise teams on compliance, claims, variations, and legal matters
Prepare commercial progress reports, forecasts, and business cases
Review payments, invoices, contract changes, and contractor pricing
Requirements:
8+ years of utilities, power, energy, or related commercial experience
University degree in business, finance, law, engineering, or complementary field
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to negotiate with vendors and service providers
