Senior Strategic Communications Specialist

Shape strategic communications for Taza Development Corp. with exceptional writing and media relations expertise. Lead work from concept through execution in Calgary, Alberta.
This hands-on communications opportunity supports Taza, the partnership between the Tsuut’ina Nation and Canderel. You will plan campaigns, produce audience-focused content, and manage media relations for community development. The work connects with residents, businesses, partners, leadership, media, and broader public audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop integrated communications plans aligned with Taza priorities
Write website, newsletter, report, and announcement content
Build media lists, pitch stories, and coordinate interviews
Direct agencies, vendors, and content contractors
Measure communications data and recommend improvements
Requirements:
Seven or more years of progressive communications experience
Portfolio of strategic plans, media materials, and audience content
Exceptional writing, editing, and judgment with sensitive topics
Experience managing stakeholders, approvals, deadlines, and priorities
Working proficiency with Microsoft 365, analytics, and generative AI
Bring strategic planning, polished writing, and media relations expertise to communications supporting Taza’s communities and stakeholders.
