Senior Patent Operations Manager
Gowling WLG
Lead patent prosecution operations at Gowling WLG using Canadian and foreign practices, process improvement, and national team leadership. This national role supports Canadian and international offices.
As Senior Manager, Patent Operations, you will oversee patent prosecution support services across Gowling WLG. The position requires extensive knowledge of Canadian and foreign practices, people leadership, and operational planning. You will standardize workflows, support strategic initiatives, and advance exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead patent prosecution support services across Canadian and international offices
Develop and mentor a national patent support team
Establish processes, workflows, and operational best practices
Partner with professionals and leaders on patent matters
Manage recruitment, performance, and employee development initiatives
Requirements:
Related university degree or college diploma
At least 12 years of intellectual property support experience
At least eight years managing and developing teams
Knowledge of Canadian and foreign patent prosecution practices
Microsoft Office proficiency; Inprotech experience is an asset
Bring patent prosecution expertise, operational discipline, and people leadership to Gowling WLG’s national Intellectual Property team.
