Head of Engineering BIPV Facades
Mitrex - Building-Integrated Solar Technology
Lead BIPV façade engineering at Mitrex in Etobicoke, using P.Eng expertise and building-envelope knowledge in an in-office leadership role.
As Head of Engineering, you will direct technical work across Mitrex and Cladify. You will lead design and drafting, approve delegated-design deliverables, and guide product development. The position reports to the CEO and covers projects involving solar façades, rainscreen assemblies, attachment systems, and electrical integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and drafting teams across Mitrex and Cladify projects
Review, sign off, and stamp shop drawings and calculations
Own ISD approval and technical direction through fabrication
Resolve technical questions from clients and authorities
Lead R&D from prototyping through certification and production
Requirements:
Licensed P.Eng in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario
Seven to ten-plus years of engineering experience
Façade, building-envelope, or delegated-design experience
Knowledge of OBC/NBC, wind loads, and cladding anchorage
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor
Shape engineering standards, delegated design, and new BIPV products across Mitrex and Cladify from Etobicoke.
