Senior Distributed Systems Engineer

Design distributed systems at scale as a Senior Engineer in Vancouver, using C#, .Net, AWS, and Kubernetes within a hybrid model.
As a senior team member, you will influence architecture and implementation beyond feature delivery. You will modernize monolithic systems, build scalable software, and make major code design decisions. The work also includes React, CI/CD maturation, TDD, automated testing, refactoring, and agile delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Refactor monolithic components into distributed, scalable architectures
Develop technical designs aligned with engineering frameworks
Build and maintain C#, .Net, React, AWS, and Kubernetes systems
Mature CI/CD tooling and TDD practices
Coach engineers through complex technical challenges
Requirements:
Experience delivering complex, large-scale distributed systems
Strong fundamentals and ability to learn adjacent technologies
Experience designing high-quality software across languages and tools
Ability to lead major code design decisions
Experience with automated testing, refactoring, and agile delivery
Shape scalable architecture at Xero while applying distributed systems, technical design, and mentoring skills in Vancouver.
