Financial Controls Director CPA

Strengthen Newton’s financial controls and reporting from a Canada-wide remote setting, using CPA credentials, IFRS knowledge, and careful process leadership.
Newton seeks a Director of Finance focused on accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial guidance. You will develop accounting policies, document business processes, and maintain quality control over transactions and reports. The role also manages close activities, tax requirements, reconciliations, and internal control improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and document accounting policies and processes
Maintain quality control over financial transactions
Manage federal and provincial tax issues
Oversee financial reporting delivery and accuracy
Support expansion through stronger internal controls
Requirements:
CPA designation with IFRS working knowledge
At least 10 years of accounting experience
External audit experience across two busy seasons
Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
