Senior Labour Relations Advisor

Lead labour relations investigations and collective agreement guidance as a Senior Advisor with the City of Coquitlam in flexible, hybrid Coquitlam work.
Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations and HR Strategy, you will advise managers and Human Resources colleagues on employee relations, discipline, performance management and workplace conflict. You will also support disability management, including medical leaves, accommodation and return-to-work planning, while developing broader expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and administer collective agreements for managers and HR colleagues
Conduct interviews, assess information and prepare investigation recommendations
Support grievances, dispute resolution, meetings and recommended responses
Maintain constructive relationships with unions, leaders and HR colleagues
Support medical leave, accommodation and return-to-work processes
Requirements:
Degree in labour relations, human resources or related discipline
Approximately five years of progressive human resources experience
Substantial labour relations responsibility in complex unionized environments
Workplace investigation, analysis and recommendation-writing experience
Knowledge of labour, employment and human rights legislation
Apply sound judgment, investigation expertise and collective agreement knowledge while expanding disability management practice at Coquitlam.
