Commercial Kitchen Cook

Commercial kitchen cooking meets meal service in this Cook role, preparing special diets and maintaining food safety standards. Work Wednesday through Saturday, 0930 to 1730.
Connective seeks a Cook responsible for preparing, finishing, and serving meals and snacks. The position supports residents with diverse needs through dietary planning, safe food handling, and orderly kitchen operations. You will also assist inventory control, ordering, and staff instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and serve meals and special dietary snacks
Transport and serve meals at other sites safely
Maintain clean, safe, regulatory-standard kitchen work areas
Develop menus for dietary requirements and resident needs
Manage food inventory, storage, ordering, and approved purchases
Requirements:
One year cooking in a commercial or residential program kitchen
Understanding of support services for people with diverse needs
Effective collaboration and communication skills
Food Safe Certificate, Levels 1 and 2
Emergency First Aid, driver's licence, vaccination proof, and vulnerable-sector check
