Trauma-Informed Youth Care Specialist

Apply trauma-informed care and therapeutic support during evening shifts with youth in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Choose full-time or temporary casual scheduling.
This Child and Youth Care Worker position supports children and youth with complex behavioural, emotional, and trauma-related needs. You will understand behaviour as communication, build meaningful relationships, and provide consistent emotional support. The role combines individualized care, crisis intervention, life-skills teaching, documentation, and collaboration with Program Supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized care tailored to each youth’s needs
Respond therapeutically to aggression, withdrawal, or dysregulation
Support emotional regulation through patience and consistency
Create joy through games, cooking, and life skills
Maintain detailed daily documentation and observations
Requirements:
Experience in youth care or related fields is an asset
Ability to understand behaviour as communication
Ability to balance playfulness with firm boundaries
Clear criminal and intervention record checks
