Oil Burner Technician

Carmichael Engineering is seeking a full-time Commercial Heating technician to join its team.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial and institutional heating systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing hot water and steam heating systems, while supporting operational continuity for commercial and institutional clients.

Salary Range:
Unionized Rates
Responsibilities:
Perform seasonal maintenance on a wide range of hot water and steam heating systems in industrial and institutional sectors
Diagnose system issues, troubleshoot, and resolve problems
Test combustion equipment and associated control systems
Dismantle defective systems and test components
Replace faulty parts and reassemble repaired systems
Test system operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure safe and reliable performance
Estimate, order, and install materials and supplies required for equipment maintenance
Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and causes of malfunctions
Perform combustion analysis and adjustments to meet manufacturer requirements
Provide personalized follow-up with clients
Requirements:
Oil Burner Boiler experience required
Hydronics experience required
Gaz or Oil licenses an asset
Valid driver’s license
Strong communication skills with clients and suppliers
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams
