Support patient care at LifeLabs as a Part-Time Laboratory Assistant in Colwood, collecting specimens and preparing them for transportation. Monday to Friday, 20 hours weekly.
This Laboratory Assistant manages the specimen collection process from patient greeting through specimen preparation. You will perform phlebotomies, ECG tracings, Holter monitor connections, and blood pressure monitoring. The position also includes data entry, special test collections, documentation, and patient inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and verify required test information
Explain protocols before collecting patient specimens
Perform phlebotomies and ECG tracings
Conduct Holter and blood pressure monitoring
Prepare specimens and complete related documentation
Requirements:

Recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program completion
Phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, or related healthcare experience
Proficient data entry skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Strict commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
