Residential Counsellor Developmental Disabilities

Support adults with developmental disabilities as a Residential Counsellor, using person-directed planning and therapeutic communication in community homes. Shifts vary across days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
The Salvation Army seeks a Residential Counsellor for Lawson Ministries Programs. You will plan and implement individualized, goal-centered programs while promoting independence, nurturing support, and quality living. The position includes personal care, medication documentation, transportation, and coordinated work with families, staff, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and evaluate person-directed treatment and rehabilitation plans
Meet physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs
Record daily logs, incident reports, and shift documentation
Administer and order medications with accurate documentation
Support emergencies, appointments, transportation, and residence upkeep
Requirements:
Two-year Developmental Social Worker or Human Services diploma
Two years supporting adults with developmental disabilities
Valid Ontario Class G licence and current Driver’s Abstract
First Aid, CPR, defibrillation, and CPI certification
Strong communication, confidentiality, problem-solving, and lifting abilities
Bring developmental disability support, person-directed planning, medication administration, and compassionate communication to Lawson Ministries residential services.
