Diagnose heavy equipment faults with SMS Equipment in Grande Prairie, Alberta, performing repairs and equipment builds in shop and field settings.
This full-time Heavy Equipment Technician opening welcomes registered third-year apprentices or Journeypersons. You will maintain construction machinery, troubleshoot issues, and support reliable customer operations. The schedule is 7x7, with customer travel and overnight stays when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls
Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic and testing equipment
Complete equipment builds in shop and field settings
Assess repairs and recommend corrective actions
Interpret work orders, manuals, and service information
Requirements:
Registered third-year apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
One to two years maintaining and repairing heavy equipment
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to safe work practices and changing technology
