Queer Yukon Community Health Assistant

Build trusted connections through workshops, outreach, and health navigation with Queer Yukon in Whitehorse. Apply communication and organizational skills in an in-person, public-facing position.
As a Health Navigator Assistant, you will support 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and families accessing health and social service programming. You will collaborate with the Health Navigator and Outreach & Communications Coordinator on inclusive community activities. This term position continues until March 31, 2028.
Key Responsibilities:
Build relationships with individuals, leaders, and organizations
Plan outreach activities, events, and educational workshops
Teach HIV prevention, PrEP, STI prevention, and gender-affirming care
Support clients within healthcare systems and social services
Maintain confidential records and accurate client tracking information
Requirements:
Two years of experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals
Experience supporting people seeking gender-affirming care
Documentation, data collection, and client tracking experience
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Support Queer Yukon’s community health work through outreach, education, confidential documentation, and respectful client navigation services.
